Upgrade Note for v2.4
======================
- new fields "email" and "pageCount" added to andrew_offline table
refer to dbtable.sql to add the fields accordingly
- no settings added in config.php.
So, reaplce the config.php with the existing one
then release the files package v2.4 to the web folder
- set the adminUsers in app settings page if that had not been set before
(see notes in using the app below)
Upgrade Note for v2.3
======================
- new settings are added in config.php.
So, please configure config.php as according to your env (by referring to existing config.php)
- then release the files package v2.3 to the web folder
General Upgrade Note for v2.x
=============================
- setup v2.0 first
- then release the files package v2.1, v2.2 one by one
** reference to email sent together with the upgrade package for detailed instruction (if any)
Upgrade Note for v2.0
======================
- There is no change to the existing database tables
- There are 2 new tables added,
1) lethal_actlog
2) lethal_job
- the cron job script is batch_run.php
Please setup the cron job as per your environment.
This can be executed directly via access http://www.yourdomain_not_facebook.com/greateapp/batch_run.php
- release the files in the package to your web directory.
Make sure you do a backup first (for fallback purpose).
Apply the changes you made again (e.g. modifying the tabs name)
- Make sure your configure the app settings via the "Edit App Settings" page after the upgrade

Thing to do in installing & configuring the application
=======================================================
1) Edit config.php and specify the following
- application specific info
- database info
Database Info
=============
1) Edit dtable.sql by changing the table_name if wanted
Run the sql to create the table.
- "uid" is the facebook user id.
- "accessToken" is the accessToken
- "status" is at this moment used for the welcome status update & post.
When user first registered, the status will be '0'.
Upon publising the welcome status update & post, the status will be changed to 'T'.

Database Info
=============
1) The user information is stored in the andrew_offline table.
To highlight,
- "uid" is the facebook user id.
- "accessToken" is the offline access token
- "email" is the email address of the user at this moment used for the welcome status update & post.
- When user is first registered, the status field will be '0'.
Upon publising the welcome status update & post, the status will be changed to 'T'.
Application Pages
===================
1) The user page is index.php and the main application page (for saving the token etc) is usermain.php.
If needed, you can make usermain.php as the index.php
2) admin.php is the entrance point for the control panel.
How to avoid user accessing the admin pages
===========================================
To protect other people from accessing the page, the admin page can be restrticted only to the admin user set in the application settings.
To activate this feature, after setting up the app, go to admin.php and then "Edit App Settings".
In the "Admin User IDs" field, input your facebook uid (note: this is the fb uid, not your email / facebook name).

How Access Token is Save
========================
- The access_token, together w/ user info like email are now saved when the user access the usermain.php.
How To Do Offline Publish
=========================
- to do an offline publishing, go to the Create Job control panel and create a job
- Then from your browser, access the batch_run.php that locates at your server directly.
You can also create a cron job for batch_run.php.

1) Welcome post
When the user first visit the app and grant the permission (I called this as "registration"), a welcome post will be published to his wall.
Admin page is provided so that you can configure the welcome post.
* Note that this welcome post will only be post to a user ONCE in his life-time (unless you delete the user's record from the database)
2) Publish to Fan Pages that the user is administrating
Currently, post will be published to "registered" users and the pages that they manages.
3) City & Timezone Support
- in the user registration, user's city and timezone information will be save to local database also
- existing "Offline Publishing (status update &" will be enhanced to support publishing to a particular country or timezone (or ALL)
4) Posting Resulting
- message with format "100success ,3failure, total 100/103" will be display upon completing the ofline publishing |
